Abstract

Over centuries several scholars have investigated the occupational diseases and their causes. The Industrial Revolution accentuated unhealthy and dangerous working conditions. At that time, women and children worked during exhaustive working hours. This article presents a brief summary about the first labor protection laws that emerged in England in the second half of the 19th century, and in Brazil, in the first half of the 20th century. And in the end, it is presented an abstract of labor protection requirements in Brazilian Federal Constitutions.
