Abstract

The objective of this work is to promote a broader, standardized and effective performance of the labor inspection in society through collective notifications in specific sectors without losing quality and individual focus, as well as enabling the collection of data necessary to measure the performance of the Labor Inspection Work and reach in companies, reduce unfair competition and, finally, prevent new work accidents in the notified sector. The problem was identified through the analysis of a fatal work accident carried out by a winemaker responsible for a winery located near Porto Alegre/RS. On this occasion, it was verified the lack of knowledge of workers regarding the risks existing inside the confined spaces of the winery and the total inadequacy of the location to NR 33 - Regulatory Standard Nº. 33 of the Ministry of Labor and Employment, current Ministry of Economy, regarding to safety and health when working in confined spaces. After analyses, interviews and resulting research, it was concluded that there is an urgent need for collective action in the traditional sector of the State of Rio Grande do Sul, with a focus on safety and health at work in the confined spaces of wineries. For a better understanding of this work, it will be covered from the planning of the Collective Notification in the Wine Manufacturing Industry with a focus on NR 33 - Safety and Health in Work in Confined Spaces - to its implementation and final result of the action of the Labor Inspection.
