The new wording of the NR-01 standard requires the processes' existing risks to be consolidated and documented in the so-called Occupational Risks Management Program (ORMP). The text assures the employer the freedom to choose the appropriate tools and techniques to assess these risks in terms of probability. However, the significant variability of situations and existing assessment techniques shows the difficulty in choosing the most appropriate tool or method considering the specifics of the standard. In the technical literature, there is a lack of a tool model that is easy to apply and capable of meeting the new requirements, creating an obstacle to promoting occupational safety and health in Brazil. In addition, this fact also makes it difficult for OSH professionals to establish an adequate classification of occupational risk levels. This article aims to overcome this difficulty by proposing a tool model capable of classifying risks of different natures and species to meet the requirements of NR-01. The methodology used to prepare the proposal was based on Participatory Action Research in three successive stages. The research subjects were labor inspectors and researchers in occupational health and safety. The proposed model is characterized by its ease of application and seeks to help OSH professionals, with little access to international literature, in facing the new challenges of occupational risk management.
