Contrary to what is expected from legal norms that discipline subordinate labor relations, aimed at promoting social advances, Law 13.467/2017, called Labor Reform, incorporated rules into the CLT and other laws, which culminated in the reduction of rights and the weakening of the contractual position of the worker vis-à-vis his contractor. Officially, however, it was maintained that the changes were due to the need to “update” labor standards to the social reality, thus “modernizing” the legal treatment of labor relations. Between text and pretext, there is a space to claim investigations in the field of linguistic knowledge. The authoritarian political process through which the Labor Reform was approved, just over five years ago, and the contrast between the declared reasons for its adoption and the underlying purposes of the provisions unfavorable to the worker are denounced by linguistic elements that sew the textual mesh of the normative propositions. The objective of the present study, based on the lesson of authors of high prestige in the field of Linguistic Science and Logic, is to identify and describe the linguistic elements that signal, in the text of Law 13.467/2017, the hyperauthoritarian speech of the legislator, guided by the hypothesis that the anti-democratic conduct of the sociopolitical process in which innovations took place left signs on the surface fabric and on the argumentative structure of the text of the law, revealed by elements of Text Linguistics and Discourse Analysis.
