The research addresses existential damage and work similar to slavery in the 21st century, focusing on informality associated with new technologies. Discusses how the slave structure persists in Brazilian society and the role of new technologies in labor informality. It investigates how the economic model and political structure reinforce this situation, leading less favored social classes not to question the status quo. It analyzes the historical milestones and gaps in legislation that shape labor relations, from the Consolidation of Labor Laws (CLT) to the 1988 Constitution, and the legacy of centuries of slavery that generated social and racial inequality. It explores the impact of new technologies, such as uberization, and excessive working hours and lack of rest, which compromise workers' life plans, giving rise to existential damage. The research consists of a bibliographic and documentary review. In the end, it reveals that, despite the abolition of slavery, this structure still persists, while gaining new contours with technologies. Work similar to slavery today compromises the dreams and life projects of workers, leading them to seek compensation based on existential damage.
