The Special Sectoral Action in the Tobacco Production Chain structured a strategic intervention in the tobacco farming sector in Rio Grande do Sul, aimed at promoting decent work and encouraging best labor practices in rural contexts. Based on a phased methodology—planning, implementation, and evaluation—the approach engaged sector-leading organizations, integrated producers, and stakeholders through feedback cycles, educational initiatives, and targeted inspections. The outcomes demonstrate tangible impacts on labor formalization, the dissemination of instructional materials, and the strengthening of regulatory compliance, with results that go beyond traditional labor enforcement. The practice has shown to be replicable in other agricultural production chains with similar configurations, reinforcing the strategic role of Labour Inspection as an agent of structural transformation.
